Ogrov Torpedo Cruiser
With the introduction of powerful starbases to fortify enemy positions, the need arose to deal with hardened targets. The TEC answer to this call is the Ogrov, a cruiser dedicated solely to the destruction of enemy structures. With its high-yield explosive torpedoes, the Ogrov is capable of quickly annihilating any structure or starbase from range.
Boasting the single-highest outright damage against structures in the game, the Ogrov is capable of firing a salvo of torpedoes at its hapless victim. The torpedoes are, more or less, space-borne ICBMs that make for quite an impression. In addition, Ogrov Torpedo Cruisers tend to continue moving during the attack until, in the case of a defensive structure, the Cruiser is just barely outside of the structure's offensive range. This means that, in a TEC-TEC mirror battle, commanders must be careful, because the sudden arrival of an Akkan Battlecruiser with Targeting Uplink to boost the range of defensive structure could spell the doom for your Ogrov(s).
Unfortunately, the torpedoes are so unwieldy, they cannot target ships (as the targeting systems make them too cumbersome). So, it is advised that you keep your fleet of Ogrovs well-protected unless your forces are already fighting the enemy and you're attempting a raid.
Ogrovs are the ship of choice for attacking enemy starbases, in particular the Orkulus - unless the starbase is heavily upgraded or has a large number of supporting Overseers, a group of 10 or 12 Ogrovs will make short work of a dangerous Orkulus.
